I 'grew up' with erotic paysites, the classic and simple business model of paying $10 - $30 a month and then getting access to a full catalogue of galleries and videos of whatever company you signed up to. Seemed fair, made sense. I also really liked the idea of Onlyfans, having models run their own sites and making content that's more 'real', not just glossy professional stuff but selfies, behind the scenes, some interaction. Always been one who enjoyed the more real, amateur style nudes to the overdone productions like Playboy and so Onlyfans was a great development.
The obvious idea was that now models (pros and newcomers) could eliminate the middle man and while OF still takes a cut obviously, a model now had full control over her own content, maintain copyright, set the prices and decide what to upload. For a while I think it worked pretty well, with the simple, aforementioned concept of paying a certain amount a month and getting access to a stream of new and archived content.
Then more and more profiles started with PPVs, unlockable posts and DMs, pay to message, VIP memberships, clubs etc. and it all went downhill. I've seen a good number of profiles I used to follow that turned into complete ass by switching their business model. I can only assume it's the influence of 'social media manager' types, looking at bigger/more successful profiles or plain just getting advice from other friends doing it.
I would honestly summarize it as 'Greed', plain and simple. Now I'm not gonna pretend that downloading stuff for free or leaking paid content is some kind of justified, noble robin hood type activity, but so many of these models have completely lost it when it comes to the idea of a fair exchange. There's no concept anymore of 'ok, these people pay a certain amount per month and I will provide fun content', now it's all about 'how much money can I squeeze out of gullible, horny idiots, how good am I at tricking people into spending more on me?'.
So in that sense, yeah, leak away. I'm not saying all models do that but those that do, they can honestly go fuck themselves. They wanna lament their content gets leaked while trying to lure people with misleading descriptions and demand insane money for the most basic of content? Fuck them.
