Overrated - Peta Jensen
While Bridgette B. is the case of an awful pornstar who gets booked everywhere, Peta is the case of an okay pornstar who has a lot of hype behind her for some reason. She might be reddit's favorite pornstar, she gets mentioned in like every other post, I shit you not. And I don't get it.
Giant fake tits again. Shot almost exclusively for Brazzers, which is the porn equivalent of a generic pop music.
I'm definitely partisan on her BUT I think there are a couple of reasons which can explain her success and legacy (both far superior to her career, objectively speaking). I'll try and remain objective.
She was the epitome of what the average consumer of mainstream porn wants: young girl, cool tattoos, hot body, big boobs. Also had personality, she wasn't another vacuous girl who lies down, moans, gets cumshot, and leaves. She actively participated in the scene. She wrote the subject for her first anal scene (Anything He Desires, with Allie Haze, Levi Cash and Bill Bayley), and it was a good scene. The fact that the anal itself didn't turn out to be that good is another question — she did a way better job with her second anal btw.
And yes, people like giant boobs and tend to ignore if they are fake or not. Btw hers were two very good fake boobs, even if I agree that .
She shot for Brazzers (not "almost exclusively", that's factually untrue: she worked almost exclusively for them at a certain point because they signed her under exclusive contract) and other mainstream companies (Digital Playground, Jules Jordan and BangBros) which guaranteed her a huge success. Her scenes are some of the most watched still today and during the lockdown Brazzers released a compilation of her scenes.
She worked almost exclusively (this time for real) with big names (Bill Bayley, Danny D, Johnny Sins, Keiran Lee, Mike Adriano) which definitely raised her popularity.
She never did DP or harder stuff (which is a limit of hers), but still any company she has worked with bet heavily on her. I mean, there must be reasons.
Also the fact that she suddenly disappeared (and I mean, she literally disappeared) paradoxically contributed to create her "legacy".
TL;DR she was hot and cool. She did less than she could have, but what she did was usually of high quality. Her fame is excessive, but there are good reasons why she could still be famous these days.

Now that I'm thinking about it, it's just her resume that might be the biggest problem with me. If she shot more for the companies that I love and follow, then maybe I'd have loved her more.
Digital Playground is not really much different from Brazzers. It's all MindGeek stuff.
Jules Jordan would have been awesome, but she basically has one scene with Bill Bailey, and that's it.
I guess my gripe isnt really with Peta, but with the type of porn that she's associated with
Her biggest error (which was such only from our POV as customers, but not from hers, and I'll explain why) was to start with some pseudo-bondage/rough-ish stuff (her very first scenes + the doggy scene with Jordan Ash + the Jules Jordan orgy... I mean, Adriana Chechik, Aidra Fox and James Deen were in that scene) and then stick to mainstream stuff.
It may be considered an error from my POV as a customer, because even if she was into rough sex, and occasionally turned back to it (e.g. her PornFidelity scene and her last anal, probably her best scene), at the end of the day she had only created expectations which she didn't really end up living up to.
She was active in 2014-2017 and in those years, Kink were still producing great scenes. Isis Love was still working with them. Just saying.
But she had made clear since the beginning that she was planning to only work in the industry for 3-4 years top and then retire. Which she did. At least she was honest.
PS — I agree that her fame and legacy are surprising. As I said, way bigger than her career. What's even more astounding is that she's comparable to Lisa Ann or Amia Miley or Mia Khalifa in terms of internet fame... but she has completely disappeared since 2017. Lisa Ann is still a media personality, same for Mia Khalifa and Amia Miley who are basically models, now.

overrated: I feel like there's no point of listing my overrated ones cuz most of my opinions align with most already listed here. I will say real quick, I'm okay with Angela White but 3-peating as female POTY winner was overkill.
