IS there anyway to run a search thru a specific thread for content creator names or titles of videos in said specific thread, so as to avoid reposts?

Yeah, if you have the thread open just use the drop down menu to set earch for "this thread":

Could we make it so that posts and replies are required to have a thumbnail/preview of whatever content they're posting, from sites like bunkr/gofile/etc.? It's annoying when you're looking for something specific and the posts are just links, makes you have to open the link and see what it is

No, that would require forcing users that share content to also share those previes of the content and for some users that would seem like too many extra steps to post content, it would put them off.

One would imagine that if they have the knowledge to share content to begin with, they surely would have the know how to make a preview or heck, even link to a public preview from manyvids/twitter/a paysite etc

With that said, I know that this particular issue is not for changing. :-(

I dunno why you're getting down-voted?
Although making it a rule could put some people off who don't have a jpeg.fish account, who then wouldn't upload anything :-(

If it's any consolation to you - every post I make in content thread contains screenies and a description for users to see what it is before downloading.
And yes, I''ve noticed including screenies normally doubles the amount of reaction points on my posts

I actually made a similar post in another thread - seems like other uploaders here agree too
100% agree with you.
Just visited a thread that's a graveyard of dead GoNofile links - and is just getting worse every day, now the girl is on hiatus.
I could update it all - BUT, no descriptions (or any idea of what they were), let alone anyone else in that thread doing screen caps.
Then there's a stack of live links to sort through first, to check I don't re-up (no idea what they are either without d/ling everyone one of them, yup no descriptions or no screenies on them either)..
FML, too much aggravation, I'll need a lot of spare time to go through it first d/ling them all

Anyway, There's a Simpcity posting etiquette guide for users to read; here - https://simpcity.su/threads/a-guide-to-good-forum-posting-etiquette.97202/
It should be mandatory reading for anyone before posting in a content thread.

The issue is not the knowledge of how to do previews, the issue is it would require users posting content to jump through an extra hoop just to post their content. Many of them might not mind it, but I'm sure quite a few would and would stop posting content just ause of that.

Cheers,
We all understand the reason why it's not a rule - yes, it's an extra step for someone who has already taken time to upload a video to file host.
I think @max0rz was making an inference that if the user is able to create gigabyte upload to a video host, then a 100k image upload shouldn't be too hard. - Unless the poster is Like Farming (i.e a Link Leecher and has never uploaded anything in their life)

Talking about Like Farming - Here's an Idea / Suggestion
Is it possible to add a filter that checks for previously posted bunkr URL or other filehost URL before a post is able to be published?

I've been catching Like Farmers by using the advanced search function, so I assume it's possible? (example given)

Not happening, its an unenforcable rule, punishing people for posting without a preview = less content and less users willing to post content.
Honestly if people are too lazy to open a link and press play then its their loss they dont get the content :peepoShrug:
Lets stop this repeating discussion, its getting old and has been answered many times before.

Would need an addon, we've tried to find other spam filter addons but none fit what we want. We already abuse the spam filter for things it is not meant for, its just meant to catch spam links. Also wouldn't work most the time because most hosts dont have the filename or any identifiable information in the URL so anyone that uses a different host would bypass it, it could only work for identical links but it doesnt exist.

Completely understand and appreciate all of that.
I see that there is mention of it in the posting etiquette thread already.

Mind you, would there be any scope perhaps to allow other users to report a post and provide a screenshot/preview link for the mods/admins to include.
This screenshot/preview will ultimately benefit the original video poster in terms of reaction scores and it benefits other users in terms of knowing what the video is.

You could but if it gets annoying and overwhelms the staff then we wont.

Would it be possible to have some kind of tag at the beginning of a thread that ranks how far they "go"? Something like Clothed - > Cosplay -> Bikini -> Nude -> Masturbation -> Toys -> G/G -> B/G -> All

Hate having to sift through 10 pages of content to not even see a nipple

There's a sort by reaction score button at the top of each thread, will show you their most liked post which will usually show you how far they go

Please introduce comments to posts (like a few other forums have) to increase legibility for people who want to mirror content to more reliable hosts. This feature would also be great for people who want to resurrect posts with only dead links without removing the original post, which can sometimes create additional confusion.
Thanks for considering.

Comments
There's many reasons we aren't introducing comments such as:
  • The addon is very buggy and was causing somewhere else a lot of pain for quite some time. This forum is already struggling with server load issues given its larger userbase so probably not a good idea to add that.
  • How do we keep on top of modding a thread where the latest thing in it (a comment) isn't the last post? We'd be relying purely on reports for doxing, arguments, spam etc.
  • I've seen multiple cases of people bitching about a models content getting worse or not good enough in comments which then leads the leakers to think 'Why am I buying and sharing content with these ungrateful idiots?' and they stop posting. Separate discussion threads keeps all that separate and the leakers can ignore it and just see all the positive reactions to the content they post. I dont think many appreciate how important that actually is.
  • They look shit
  • Some other reasons I cant remember

This is the greatest site I've ever browsed, I read the rules, but I'm having difficulty finding items to post. Is there a way to make it simpler, without breaking the rules?
They're a bit more lenient with posts in Requests - so check your porn stash, then do a search in the request section for anyone asking for stuff you might have.
Pro-gamer tip: Create a bunkr account to upload files - that way your post won't get deleted if the host dies like goneAnonfiles or noGofiles - meaning you'll keep all the reaction points

It's really just the Content sections where the rules are enforced with an iron rule - to stop them turning into spam threads

Two thumbs up for reading the rules (y) (y) you're one step ahead most people on this forum

In the Request thread 'Who is This', when I've solved the request, I was informed that it was already solved.
How am I supposed to know that, unless I scroll through page after page. Is there a way to make it easier?

Actually, can we put in a permanent SOLVED button.

Thanks in advance.

People have a desire to post links they've found elsewhere and for some reason I can't figure out, say it's "not theirs." I don't know why that information was important but it creates lots of stale links. I think it should be encouraged that if you post a link, it should be a freshly uploaded link. Of course, if it's a folder with a lot of files, maybe there could be an exception. But I think people are just trying to get likes by copy and pasting links while not actually contributing anything.
