the thing thing with hololive talents is that they all have a bright future ahead of the them whenever they do graduate. because they are all super talented. holomyth is a great example of that, especially ina. last time i checked her PL she was trying to start an animation studio.
 
Just keep in mind, joining Holo now means joining to be a professional entertainer. It's no longer just a company a vtuber joins to be a streamer, it's now a worldwide name. That means the same for those already in the company, if they only want to stream and play games they won't be able to survive the stress of all the other duties included. Given what we know of the onion, that's exactly what she might have wanted to negotiate with the company. We'll just wish Akutan well for whatever she wants to do going forward o7

Well the singing and dancing are not mandatory more then one talent has come out and said that. Aqua situation is that do to her anxiety and how terrible in general she is with dealing with people she thought her fans would not be ok with her not doing concerts, singing, dancing etc and so instead she decide to quit (I don't think most of her fans would care but that not what she thinks) but yes you be held to the highest standard if you apply and join them

There's also the fact that she used to do all that. Aqua has entire original albums and was in every big concert Hololive has put out. But the company got hella big, which started affecting her workflow since she would be at risk of bumping or needing a bunch of unknown people at any moment - and the thought of not doing the things she used to anymore instead made her feel incompetent. Which is a damn shame. Aqua is one of the most accomplished Holomem - hell, one of the most accomplished VTUBERS - and in the end, what got her was... Mental illness.

Wouldn't exactly say mental illness, but yeah this whole thing is unavoidable unfortunately, and it truly is a difference in direction. People like suisei and sora thrive in the current state of hololive, but some unfortunately don't.

Yet i'll be lying if i'm not worried about gen 2, both ayame and shion have not been streaming regularly for more than a year now. It'd be devastating for both choco and subaru if the worst case scenario happen.

Funny enough is true, always has been (speaking of the JP branch). When Hololive started, most of them were already established in the entertainment industry in diferent japanese media like Nico Nico, internet shows, early streamers and some on small TV programs. Most of them started out as acquaintances and friends of friends (good nepotism). It's obvious and there's nothing wrong with it in this case, because at the beginning, who is going to do auditions? Even today, I think there is a lot of influence if you already have someone known inside Hololive, and one or two "outsiders" in each generation.
Many were new to streaming but have talent as comedians, entertainers, show hosts, or even real idols, so it's not that far from reality.
I still remember an old archived stream where it's a karaoke on Nico Nico with several Hololive members in the flesh, and even some from Nijisanji

Don't forget it's really tiring when you're playing/steaming/entertaining as a Job(because it's a Job) vs enjoying your games and hobbies. Sadly, she's an introvert(like most Japanese) which also contribute to her decision to graduate. It's hard to think of a new content to make and it's a strict schedule that she needs to follow every day because mane-san will nag you to stream on time, rehearsals and so on. It's a corpo life for an introvert like our onion bocchi 6yrs is a very impressive record. She shows her endurance & dedication despite her low self esteem she pull through rigorous training. She didn't choose the hiatus option like her co-workers she straight up choose to graduate because she doesn't want to lie to herself anymore. You know what I'm afraid of? If Gura Graduate HoloEN Staff are doing their best to make Gura comfortable let her take breaks as long as she doesn't choose graduate because that would dmg cover stocks big time.

Not saying Aqua isn't introvert or struggling with the corpo life, but man you don't know anything you're talking about as in, you don't know her or anyone working at Cover. Stop speculating.
