Everyday women that start their own Onlyfans accounts (not "celebrities" or agency-run Onlyfans accounts) are often enough maldjusted individuals with few career prospects (or aren't suited for higher education) when they decide to get into sex work. Or, they're working-class women that need the extra money because their primary income doesn't sustain them, a more humbling scenario admittedly (think about how many Onlyfans creators are seen at their place of work when they post, such as nurses - Meg McCarthy in the early days, for example). As such, you won't find a whole lot of educated, well-adjusted, self-respecting women on Onlyfans given that it involves allowing yourself to be objectified by thousands of people, which is counterproductive to their own self-worth and respectability to others.

Let's just pretend for a moment if your sentiment were the leading sentiment which brings out the depression - that suggests to me that most of the women that get into Onlyfans don't really contemplate the moral/safety-based implications of their decisions prior to making the leap. As we've already witnessed, Mai already had to move once with part of the reason being that break-in she had to deal with (regardless of one's opinions on if it happened or not). After something traumatizing like that, I could see someone in her position wondering if her keeping up with her "career" is worth it or not and if she took the right path in life. More directly in line with your sentiment: "I sold my body and it brought all this trouble that I wasn't prepared to cope with or handle...did I make a mistake?" And cue the mental health Onlyfans content pause each time this sinks in.

Good points , i think even without the break-in and stuff , prostitution (which onlyfans is a digital version of) has been looked down upon since the dawn of humanity pretty much , and if in all those thousands of years it's still not a respected job , then even if any OF girl has her dream life on paper , she will never be able to wrestle down the ''i sold my body to get this'' , an indirect indicator of this is if asked about profession , a millionaire girl who got there through investing and stuff will proudly say ''i'm a businesswoman and investor'' , but an OF girl will most definitely not feel the same pride revealing her occupation.

Any type of sex work - whether it's as a camwhore, a porn star, a prostitute or anything I might be leaving out - is considered low culture. Anytime an Onlyfans creator refers to themself as a "small business owner", "self-employed" or something similar to that is nothing more than a cope or a way to sidestep the icky/dirty part of the conversation about what industry they work in, which is the sex industry. I also mentioned in a different discussion thread that if you can't present your career at your son or daughter's Career Day at their school (for both legal and ethical reasons), your "job" isn't likely one that would go over well in conversation with mixed company. Nudity, sex and sexual activities are all private matters handled in private and putting any of that on public display and/or for sale goes against what's considered moral and decent. Expressing pride in immoral or indecent activities will ensure a swift backlash from most people - that includes sex work.

Note that I'm not taking a moral stance on this personally, I'm only reflecting on how society views sex workers and sex in general.

Yeah exactly , i don't take joy in that this line of work hurts these women's self worth and such , but that's how society works unfortunately , and that's talking developed liberal countries , in some parts of the developing world , sex work is a jailable offense , let alone respected.

At the same time i sometimes wonder how different their lives would have been if they were dudes (especially the millionaire OF girls) , like if belle delphine was a guy , zero makeup , normal body , normal face...

The only ways in which I see sex work being de-stigmatized and legitimized is if you can have the government step in, legalize and regulate it and then start promoting it as a viable career opportunity/just as legitimate as say becoming a doctor or a lawyer. You'd also have to advertise and promote it the same way other careers are and enlist self-respecting, well-adjusted, well-educated, well-spoken individuals to encourage people to participate in sex work. The trouble with all this is there are laws and public perception around sex work that would make all of the above impossible - that and as noted before, sex work is full of maladjusted, poorly educated individuals who would convince the masses that sticking to their day jobs is a better option in most cases.

She did, I saw it on her main insta that's gone now. So that's a good sign imo she realized her mess-up. Last time she posted a storie on isnta, she was talking about doing some English study or some shit and she showed she had pretty low grades that she wanted to improve. So I'm sure that's what she's doing atm and hell, it might even be good for us as it would expend her vocabulary a bit more and might result in better sex talk. 😅

One of the reasons for her getting a studio - in her own words - is that she wants to create a backlog of videos that she can post while she's in the US to take English classes. The test she did is a requirement to get a green card, or something like that.
