I actually had this issue with IPs on rec-tube when some vids were showing error under one IP and playing perfectly under another at the same time. Ironically, my real IP was the one showing errors, and a VPN was the working one. But a lot of 2015–2018 videos are just broken and won't work under any IP.

Sorry mate, nothing works for me either, seems all is gone for good. I too know some very special recordings on rec-tube on which I stumbled way too late, and now they're lost

Great description but I don't get any video even in the network panel.
unlike rec-tube u dont need to open a new tab, just play the video. open inspect element and with the extension a button pops up saying "download this video" the only downside is that it's a lot slower to download now
