Back in November, some lawyer called Robert Carey was apparently seeking to file a class action lawsuit against OF models for fraud. However, it's been 5 months and I haven't heard about any new developments.
I've been investigating the phenomenon of OF agencies a bit. Before the pandemic, only celebrities with huge followings had managers running their accounts. After the pandemic hit and people lost their jobs, many women resorted to OF to earn some money. That's when people started creating agencies, and there are articles from as early as 2021 talking about how, even back then, men were often talking to managers (referred to as "chatters") pretending to be the models.
It's no longer a secret, anyway. If you google "onlyfans agencies", you'll get plenty of results, including some agencies' official websites.
Agencies will tell models they can make them a lot more money. Some of these agencies are actually scamming and exploiting the models, promising them profits they can't get or agreeing to custom videos with content the models aren't comfortable with. If the models fire them, they'll sometimes threaten to sue them due to some clause in the contract saying the model owes them more money for dismissal. Some of them will tell the models to sign up for a "training program", but it's just an excuse to get the models to send them videos stripping and masturbating for free.
In any case, it's hard to feel sorry for these girls, because they all know they're scamming their subscribers and couldn't care less. In fact, at least one agency denies employing chatters and claims many models just want all the money for zero effort.
At the end of the day, both agencies and models have been using OF to scam users and each other. I hope they do get lawsuits thrown at them, but I'm not holding my breath.
