Just use internet download manager and change the download file extension from .ts to .mp4. Yes this works, and yes you can play the video on VLC and other video players.
Does this work with "just an account" or without an account at all too?
Hm, somehow it doesn't work at all for me. Not with VDH or IDM, not without account, not with a basic one or the free 3d premium one. I start the video, check VDH, click on the video and it tries to download the m3u8 which fails directly.
1. Establish a VPN connection with a "NoSpy" server (I use CyberGhostVPN)
2. Open a fresh private window in Firefox
3. Log in to recu.me with a trial premium account
4. Click "play video" on a chosen video
5. Pause the video as soon as it starts playing (VDH icon should go from grey to colored)
6. Click on the VDH icon and then on the HLS track which should be shown
7. Leave tab open and video paused (not sure if it's a requirement)
I didn't try with a basic account, but I guess it should work if it's not interrupted.
I tried two .ts download methods, and then tried several methods of converting .mp4/.mkv with ffmpeg. The final results were 1:03:16 in duration, 22+fps.
Very curious to know if the direct download .mp4 follows the 1:03:34 duration labeled on the recu page?
I never payed, I've been using the free 7 day upgrade from Basic to Premium, unfortunately now it's no longer 7 days, but only 3.
Even though it's annoying to open new email/recu accounts, I'm just saying it's doable :)
What's the point of constantly creating new emails to get premium, you can still download the videos on a basic account right? I have been. And it's the ultimate tier that advertises the "extra" videos anyway.
With basic, you're limited to one video per day. But I surely miss the days when I needed no account, and it was enough to change VPN server to download more than one video a day. Oh well...
Well, I had no luck with other methods here, yt-dlp did work for a while, but stopped, and with JDownloader2 maybe I did something wrong. I don't know...
I'd appreciate if you would share what method works for you and if there's a guide. I basically tried all I found here, but as I said, might be doing something wrong...
do you literally just copy the video location url and it works? or do you have to like first play the video and then copy something from inspection ? cuz when i try pasting the basic video location i get "yt-dlp unable to handle request: unsupported url scheme: "c" (requests, urllib)"
IDK I've tried a lot of the methods you guys mention here (yt-dlp, vdm, vdh with addon) but not a single one works for me. The url you get from the network tab when you start the video is just a fragment, are you sure you can download the entire video just by copying that one?
