Honestly, jp_mon , I think this discussion is comparing more the "perception" of whats either mainstream or popular in either countries vs the reality of what is actually produced/consumed.

And i think its fine to have those opinions, but to have a proper debate, we'd have to compare studio to studio, or format to format so that the comparison is more apples to apples.

It wouldnt be fair to compare something like Elegant Angel (which i would probably describe as closer to gravure or idol worship?) to a studio that is plot/storyline intensive.

take your example of Pierre Woodman.... back in the day i do believe he did more plot focused films.... then he moved on to his popular "casting" format where there is an interview, a foreplay, and a hardcore. But he also produces his "Wake up n fuck" series. which is a mix of amateur, raw, with light plot series.

A lot of studios houses are simply umbrella's for the diverse categories they offer to cater to a specific niche. If you are watching "BTRA (BigTitsRoundAsses)" and wondering "where is the plot?"... you arent fapping correctly, lol. BTRA is a glorification series focused on exclusively body parts, not the performer as a whole. If a viewer wanted to see the real person (or at least less of a "character") we'd choose a different format/series

Oh the varied tastes of porn...thats usually exactly what I'm looking for. Basically everything Maitland Ward is in. Honestly there was tons of decent produced stuff the last 10 years. The tube sites really started to take off around 15 years ago and they badly hurt the porn studios. Dudes just focused on scenes they could watch for free rather than buying whole movies. You just couldn't sell a whole DVD anymore. The only things that were selling were porn parodies and couples story based porn. Which is why studios started making more of those movies and they exploded the last decade.

But guess what? Onlyfans came along the past few years and changed the game. The irony is that the only way a porn studio can sell anything is to offer something that an Onlyfans can't. And that is a more storyline driven high production, better shot, and better acted porn.

It's not so much the lack of a plot, as the engagement with the woman. Some of Woodman's stuff is unpleasant but he always takes the time to show the personality of the woman before he fucks her, and it's a better scene because of that. Instead of a woman wearing cheap underwear tottering into the frame wearing heels, and telling the camera how she wants to be anally DP'd, she wears her regular clothes, and talks somewhat intelligently about sex.

Thank you for contributing jp_mon , i am starting to understand your perspective more. Porn's purpose is selling fantasy on wish fulfillment, and for many its the glamour and extreme "escapism" from the everyday. This is the exaggerated proportions, the 6" heels, the beck and call of each and every sexual whim we as consumers have...and all the women love it even when they say they dont.

But with that wish fulfillment, there are many who dont want that, who want the everyday, normal, the regular or differently shaped bodies. Its one of the reasons amateur content and onlyfans have always existed and thrive. And its a market that mainstream porn can never really capture... because even their "amateur" content is polished or scripted (see every casting couch series ever).

Like Pierre woodman, I think you would be better served looking ironically enough at male talent and their self-created content. Many of them still do "interviews" or at least foreplay stages and is much less "manufactured". Ricky Johnson, Alex legend, Johnny Sins, (i cant remember his name but had a "RAW" series). one of the reasons I really like the old "day with a pornstar" or hell James Dean back in the day was for those glimpse of personality for the actresses.

I mean, we only saw the footage from the shoot that they provided, not all of the footage from the shoot. So grain of salt on those grounds as well. We didn't see everything. We only saw what they wanted people to see.

Essentially what I want from a porn scene is to see an actual woman get fucked, as in someone that looks and acts like a real person.
