Both things can be very accurate. Romi Rain has mentioned her body dysmorphia a few times in the past, and while she’s clearly had work done, she looks amazing because she did it early/pre career and (at the time of typing this) knew when to stop. Then you have Bridgette B who had personal issues (abuse/divorce) and chose to get work done coming out of those situations, only to get butchered by her surgeon.
And in the most extreme cases it goes beyond deforming themselves by surgery. I remember Dakota Skye's face getting weirder and weirder until she overdosed. August Ames as well, super hot girl when she started, went steadly downhill with surgeries until she commited suicide. Feels like they were ready to do anything to deal with her personal issues, except going to a professional and asking for help.

Yeah, Adriana and a number of pansexual workers bullied August, who then went to a private gym and hung herself, I believe. It all started when August noted that she was uncomfortable having sex with performers that also worked with gay/trans performers. Her reasoning was fair - at the time those film sectors were not as secure as straight/lesbian scenes were, and it was more likely that she could get a STD or worse from working with someone who dabbled part-time with them. I'm sure if she were alive today, she would feel more comfortable, as trans stuff can even be found on Brazzers now.

no i meant the bullying. i know about the broken spine. in fact given what u said about her having a role in ames' suicide it now looks like karma that adriana has this kind of injury
man i listened to holly randall's podcast where she had lena paul and emma hix on and they talked a little about the suicide. lena said she set up an org to help pornstars in crisis so anyone in august's shoes won't feel alone again and emma said ames was her bestie and her passing really tore her up and didn't see it coming :(
