Not sure if it's been discussed elsewhere here, but Twitch Korea is shutting down early next year, so I guess a lot of the popular K-streamers will have to go elsewhere. Probably Afreeca I'm guessing, or maybe Youtube/Kick for those who are trying to maintain their international viewers?

those with western audience could just move to guam, hk, sg, mainland china or something. even jp or philippines.

those with mainly korean audience probably wont move, they heckin love their country.

Also, there are a few Taiwanese/HK yeocam style streamers who will probably benefit a lot from this, since they're going to have a monopoly on the viewers who watch these streams but don't want to leave Twitch :EZ:

Twitch really is the Titanic of the streaming world right now, really dumb move banning over 300k active daily users from the platform over some network fees that even a smaller company Netflix had settled recently in court & Youtube will probably win big in their legal battle. Twitch HQ was really just like "Ok we give up, fire all the Koreans problem solved" I see Korean streamers putting up polls and notes asking viewers about Afreeca, Youtube, Kick & Naver as options. Seems Afreeca & Naver are winning right now because some Koreans are concerned about the gambling on Kick and Youtube has very poor discoverability, although I don't think that matters that much when you have over 100k subs on Youtube. I didn't even know people stream on Naver, but apparently it may not work out because they are more strict then Twitch with clothing and dancing. I bet most will end up doing multiple streams on 2 or 3 of the platforms.

I wonder why they didn't think of doing something like taking bigger percentage cuts from subs that KR streamers get, or maybe charging bigger KR streamers a monthly fee to stream to Twitch. I know neither of those things would be popular, but I bet a lot of KR streamers would still accept the terms. Or maybe it still wouldn't have made it profitable for them, I don't know.

naver is new and hasnt opened up yet the benefits of naver whoever is based on the big streamers that had meetings with them they say its very similar to twitch and also since it is a korean company they can gather sponsors for the streamers and bring in the rights to sports commentary (which is why people are saying majority of afreeca streamers will move there for the those rights) and it being new means they can bring their audience without dealing with the nuisance of trolls that exist in afreeca (a big twitch crew is moving there altready think they're called yangding crew)only issue is that foreigner viewers may lose out on it

I can see that working for the big celebrity type streamers on Twitch & Afreeca, but not sure that can work for anybody else if the Koreans in chat are right about the rules being more strict then Twitch. Nobody will watch the female streamers (여캠 BJs), If they can't dance or wear anything sexy, the viewership will fall right off a cliff. Even some of the big sponsored streamers like Sooflower & Magenta dance & tease the chat first to get them to watch their boring sponsorship mobile app streams, If they can't do that it's over, unless Naver still wants to pay them a ton to stream to 500 viewers max.

IDK but 300k daily viewers + more ads then any other social media site probably makes a lot of money + 30% to 50% of 1000s of gift subs per day from oilers, Think Twitch is just out of touch like streamers have been saying for years & miscalculated, It would be like if Netflix just decided to cancel all their Korean subscriptions over the fees instead of working it out in the courts.

The only silver lining I can see to this is that maybe some of the streamers will decide to open up a Fantrie/OF because of the reduced income they might get from overseas viewers, and advertise them as much as possible before the Twitch closure :EZ:

I was thinking this too, If they go to a site with no dancing losing overseas viewers will be the least of their worries. Sooflower was already saying in the short stream she did earlier she might do a body painting or bikini stream on the last day. I saw Dami put out on IG she is willing to help Twitch streamers transfer to Afreeca. I'm hoping she brings her friends like Sooflower & Winter & others & we get some top tier dance content again & I'm sure with the more free ToS there we will be getting sexier outfits & who knows maybe some Fantries/OF content If the views & money are still not to their liking.

This site has it if you search her name, they tell her to calm down & think about if Twitch comes back in the future :MEGALUL:

I think she will do at least a bikini or sexy bunny girl outfit with no leggings, she is mad because she really went out of her way the last few years to follow their ToS dress code & it cost her viewers & she still got banned a few times & now this.

Yeah gonna be a day for the ages potentially, streamers like Yuwol & Hanururu will probably stream underboob with no pasties & maybe many more depending on the mood on that day. Lots of things are gonna happen between now and then, saw already tonight Sooflower & golaniyule0 talking about maybe doing Panda Tv or Likey with their chat, but Sooflower's chat was worried about her losing sponsors like the one she's doing tonight with Magenta. Many streamers will most likely have to choose between sponsorship PG13 streams with low view counts and subs on Naver or 19+ streams on Afreeca, Panda with maybe more xxx content off stream on Likely, Fantrie, OF ect if they need more money or to compete still.

from that twitch leak and esco showing his paypal, exbc only made 66k a yr from twitch. They refuse to go back to yt and say they are staying but getting a shell corp but I dont see how that is gonna work. Any company overseas you start is going to be taxed twice. So that is really going to eat into their profits. Leaving them near poverty level. And they avg 1000 viewers. I dont see how small 100-300 streamers can survive just staying on twitch and using a llc. I guess we will see.

I reckon the big Korean-English streamers will figure something out to stay on Twitch since they have too much to lose by going elsewhere. Whether that's this whole thing about creating an overseas company or even moving overseas, who knows at this point. But yeah a lot of the smaller streamers or the ones who mainly have a Korean audience will just go somewhere else I think - at least initially. And if they also see a massive drop off in what they make then I imagine they may consider other ways to get back on Twitch too.
