Currently I have a thread that implies that there are unread messages in it. However, I've gone to the thread multiple times to get rid of this notification, but it still persists.

I've even tried unwatching the thread, but that didn't work either.

Any tips on how to fix this?

It's a bug with pinned posts, when the newest post gets pinned the thread is always unread. When there's a new post after the pinned post everything will work again.
