As the title says, all 3 main video hosting websites for this forum don't support AV1 video streaming. Downloads work as expected, but AV1 streaming doesn't, despite support by all major browsers.

Would be great to get that fixed.
Thank you

this forum has no affiliation with gofile whatsoever, bunkr admins frequent this forum but are not directly affiliated with this site either.

Also, if the downloads still work the main intention of the hosts persists.
The players are just beneficial in checking what the video is before downloading.

I understand that it works, but it's more convenient when it's possible to stream content + in the past I had complaints that the links don't work when it's impossible to stream - people don't try to download.

Bunkr dev frequets the site and I'm sure this site is significant enought for gofile dev to check from time to time.

Saint.to doesn't even allow uploading AV1 files either because of the .mkv/.webm container or because of the AV1 video codec.

The reason why is because very few systems support AV1 decode natively. And by natively i mean having a dedicated CPU-Offload mechanism. Like most cellphones in the last 6 years have h.264 decoding. Maybe in the last 2 years most of them are capable of h.265.

If people can't view them. They'll be put off by the site and not bother clicking it meaning people won't come back.

Not everyone is browsing with a desktop with a GPU capable of doing it or a CPU with the power to decode it properly. Some people have really shitty systems out there. They probably gave their money to simp is highly likely.
