I know you guys are just fucking around with loose analogies, but in a court of law, that's actually a completely viable defense strategy in some cases. It's called selective prosecution, and if the defense can show that the prosecution brought charges on the accused, but not others who've committed the same crime (the fact that the accused did commit the crime is negated in this defense), due to some form of discrimination, then they can get them off.
But that's neither here nor there, since the only court involved in this case is the court of public opinion. At the end of the day, it's Youtube's sandbox, and Henry was allowed to play in it until they said he couldn't. They don't actually need a real reason. Youtube is part of one of the largest corporations in the world; if they want to get rid of an employee, they will (especially dumb fucks who repeatedly push the boundaries of what's acceptable). It is as simple as that.
One question, though (for someone who actually knows the real answer, please): I always thought that he made an insane amount on Patreon because of the stated number of "paid members" being well over twenty thousand (and growing all the time), but I recently did some research that combats that view. Effectively, what I found is the possibility that the number on their front page could very well just be a running tally of all subscribers, both past and present. This makes sense to me because although Henry is a coddled idiot, he should be smart enough to realize that people can do basic arithmetic, and estimate the money he makes each month on Patreon. Your average person would just toggle the page to not include the current subscriber number, since most people don't want strangers to know how much money they make. He doesn't do that. Maybe he's just that big of a classic narcissist (I've always loved the irony of him treating Jeannie like a second-class citizen because she's "just a streamer", while he's a "hard-working youtuber"; she would be finishing her residency right about now if it weren't for his existence in her life). But maybe he's actually your run-of-the-mill online narcissist who makes their life and success seem much grander than it actually is. Leaving a giant number up that most people would confuse for the concurrent subscriber count is one such way to do that. One way to disprove my theory, however, would be to prove that the number has gone down at some point. If It is a running tally like I think it might be, it will only ever grow.
