I'd be willing to bet that Kai was also a very large draw for people to subscribe to their Patreon as well. It could be a potential financial loss for them if they lose Kai.
 
I'm just a casual fan but given how long they've been threading the line with their thumbnails and the actual parts in the video it's not surprising as it was bound to happen eventually. They chose to continue doing that knowing what could happen rather than moving on from it. Yeah YT is still shit, but they're not completely innocent. It is what it is. They could go the Keemstar route and say they're just a host of the channel run by someone else.

The strikes they received seemed to rarely if ever be for thumbnails. I’m guessing having lewd thumbnails probably makes a big difference in views, so was viewed as necessary by Henry.

The strikes they received always seemed to be for random stuff. I wouldn’t be surprised if some twitter or Reddit idiot had taken offence at the thumbnails and decided to keep reporting them until MXR was on the algorithm shit list.

It's exactly this, if you'd happened upon this tweet I'd seen in the past you'd see, they were literally saying how much they hate "this" channel. Then the YouTube twitter was agreeing with them saying that they are aware of the "problem". It's highly likely that it's that person and other similar haters (including whoever runs YouTube's twitter support) reporting every single video (basically throwing shit on a wall and seeing what sticks). Enough reports stuck and they got the channel shut down.

I don't use Twitter and like here I only use reddit for material and very little conversation. It's pretty much a loseose situation, having lewd thumbnails gets views but also risks getting reported a s getting reported blacklists them and eventually getting struck then banned. Honestly I think the fan base was there for them not what they were reacting to mostly, so if they went the safe route they still could've kept their fans/channel with slightly less views. I'd take safe and monetized over getting constantly false reported or any risks. I don't know the whole situation I'm mainly looking in from the outside with the little bit I know.
 
I'm surprised that they didn't look to alternatives to YouTube. Twitter would probably be a safe harbour for their YouTube cuts at the very least.

They did thats why they have a patreon, they stuck with YT because that is were most of the audience is.

YouTube was pretty much a way of advertising their Patreon at this point.

I doubt many other social media platforms have the reach needed. Without YouTube feeding subscribers Patreon will probably eventually lose members over time.

The only way I could see them surviving is if they increase their social media presence across various platforms to get more eyeballs on the patreon and increase the number and quality of patreon videos.

Surviving?, do you think they're going to be homeless or something without YT?, also i havent seen them advertise their patreon on YT in a long time, unless you mean the usual links in their description/bio.

Jeanie has her fairly sucessful streaming career and their patreon has almost 30k paid subscribers which if at their lowest tier is still over 120k a month minus patreons cut, they will be perfectly fine.

I mean surviving as a “brand” in a way that generates a consistent income. They will be fine for a while but without something like YouTube pushing people to Patreon they will begin haemorrhaging patrons. People on the internet have a very short attention span.

And content creators are notoriously bad at managing money so it wouldn’t surprise me if they aren’t as stable financially as they really should be.

So Henry isn't allowed to have a channel at all anymore he got fully banned from having the account since he lost MXR way back in the day. Now as for Jeanie she became the owner of the channels because he was not allowed anymore but now that she has been banned too they need another person to take ownership. To get payed from YouTube they require ID and they will send payment in that name, meaning they would need someone to take ownership and pay them out after. But if they are losing Kai then they are up shits creek there

Where are you hearing they're losing Kai? Are you assuming that because she's not living with them she won't edit for them? She didn't live with them before and she worked with them regardless of her living situation. She is Jeannie's best friend before they both joined MXR.

I was more reading back in this chat. If she is still around then That's how they could work around it. If Kai is still around they could sign the channels over to her and just become "employees" that's about the only way they have around that policy of YouTube if they attempted to come back
 
I don't understand why they stick with patreon and not go with Onlyfans or Fansly? They're more free to do whatever they want. They don't necessarily have to do 100 man bukkake right from the start. But they have that option if they choose to. YT and patreon won't give them that freedom.

Onlyfans has higher fees and even worse discoverability.
