I tried to watch her streams a couple of times in the past, but mannnnn.. I absolutely can't stand them. The porn industry itself is pretty well-regulated and managed despite being considered "low culture". Porn stars are understood to be under contract and that keeps them "in line" in terms of being able to keep healthy - mentally and physically. Onlyfans/Fansly creators are essentially freelancers with very few strings attached so long as Onlyfans/Fansly gets their cut of the profits.
Exactly. Look, I'm no fan of the porn industry either, and I don't like mainstream porn (not just for the behind the scenes shit, but for the weird fucking shit they make like all that incest shit, cuck content and pedo-bait trash), but at least as you said, it kept these girls in line, and they had to work for their money. Now you can just be a girl that happens to look hot, take some pics or vids whenever you feel like it (doesn't even have to be good), upload it and DONE. Low effort, high reward. Sure you have some girls that put in a lot of effort, but I would say that 95% of OnlyFans is of extremely poor quality, and a lot is pretty much sfw. When Maimy's on her A-game, she does put in a lot of effort, but the fact that she makes sexual content but draws the line at showing nudity (a very basic concept for when you're making sexual content) and is inconsistent AF would've never happened if she was under contract with a porn company. I'm sure Burt's character's reluctance was representative of industry-wide skittishness over home video becoming the dominant method of consuming that type of media: porn. There's pros and cons to every approach, the pros including the relative privacy and safety of "enjoying" said content without running the risk of public indecency/exposure and being able to reach more people directly. The same thing happened with the Internet and the same pro comes into play, at least before camshows became a thing - the distribution methods became wider and more people could enjoy porn on demand (to avoid paying for a cable subscription for it) or people could order it more easily online. And now since camwhoring is a thing, you can now look at Onlyfans's/Fansly's impact on the industry and it has its pros and cons - with admittedly more cons now. Pros inclusive - it's easier than ever to become a content creator (porn maker/"star"); cons inclusive - there's no industry-wide standard for quality control on Onlyfans/Fansly and money is lost when people don't know what they're paying for.
Because people are entitled to spend their money on just about anything provided that it's legal - that includes stupid stuff - it would take something seismic for Onlyfans/Fansly and other comparable content outlets to start imposing their own quality control standards and actually listen to the consumers instead of letting the creators release content unchecked.

I've never seen the film, but I know about it. It's true what said in your comment, but imo, the major difference with OnlyFans/Fansly content compared to everything that came before it is that it isn't made by pros/people who know what they are doing and what consumers want, and the fact that girls on OnlyFans can be vague about what they sell and can scam people very easily. Also, OnlyFans/Fansly is a lot more personal than Porn, and a lot of it is these girls taking advantage and prey on the mentally fragile. Creating paracocial relationships with sad, lonely and depressed men for easy money. It blurs the line between entertainment and real life in a very dangerous way, and it ends up a lot of the time with both parties being hurt, since these girls have no protections and these guys just need help.
And from a consumer's POV, most content just isn't that great, and a lot of these girls are blatant scammers (''cough'' like Lauren Alexis 'cough''). That's why I love these leak forums, as they show the girls that are worth the money, the ones who make trash and the ones who scam.
One of my personal platforms is that DMCA in the case of Onlyfans/Fansly should be exempted or voided and leaking of Onlyfans/Fansly content should be legalized unless each Onlyfans/Fansly creator has proper registration of LLCs and copyrights bearing their names; this often happens with agency-run Onlyfans/Fansly accounts and bigger-name creators.
Yes, I know Onlyfans/Fansly gets a cut of the creators' profits and DMCA is applicable/leaking would still be illegal for content hosted under either platform, but I am stating this as a response to the lack of oversight that Onlyfans/Fansly have over their creators and the content hosted - i.e. Onlyfans/Fansly, if you care about the illegal proliferation of content using your banners/logos, get more involved in the quality control aspect of your site and maybe there'd be slightly less leaking going on.
