Simp Chat Hailey Welch (the Hawk Tuah girl)

I'm sounding a little elitist/classist when I say that perhaps, but you don't end up interviewing legitimate A-list celebrities if you're someone with Hailey Welch's background.
Look up George Clooney's background. He grew up in a trailer park in Kentucky. He did go to college, but it wasn't even close to Ivy League. Check out his pre-Hollywood jobs. I'm not saying Hailey will be the next Meryl, but you are a little elitist.

But does Clooney look or sound like he grew up in a trailer park? No, there's an elegance about him that shows that he's a well-oiled publicity machine and knows how to look/sound like an Oscar-winning actor. Hailey's syrupy Southern accent and personality are qualities that paint her as uneducated bumpkin, which isn't a tremendous leap when you consider Hailey didn't go to college. She reminds me a lot of Karen Black's character Rayette in Five Easy Pieces. It's also not uncommon for a large number of actors and actresses to drop out of college (or not go to college at all) so they can focus on their careers.

In addition, comparing an established A-list actor to a recent Z-list podcaster doesn't quite hold up in my mind. I opted for comparisons to James Lipton and Diane Sawyer because they're both known for interviewing celebrities and were renowned for the quality of said interviews. Hailey's interviewing people, but she's nobody particularly special and I can't see her having any career in podcast journalism or legacy based off of that - almost anyone with a tiny bit of clout and access to technology can start a podcast and "interview" someone on it.

Hailey's personal qualities are on par with a sassy "reality" television personality we've seen at some point over the past 10-20 years. She could have been cast on MTV's Buckwild or Floribama Shore and be right at home with those cast members. You don't see any of those folks walking the red carpets in Hollywood.

I wasn't as clear as I should: I wasn't making a comparison between Clooney and Hailey. I'm objecting to the general idea that "southern white trash" can never become A-list. Clooney was white trash. Brad Pitt was white trash. So many of those people didn't have the "elegance" they have now when they first arrived in Hollywood, in fact many of them had to hire dialect coaches to change their natural accent. Stephen Colbert talks all the time about having to hide his southern-ness in the beginning of his career, so much so that he lost it. Jennifer Lawrence was born in Kentucky, dropped out of high school at 14yo, never got so much as a GED.

The difference between these people and Hailey? They planned on becoming actors from childhood, so they took the steps to become "acceptable by general audiences" before it happened. Hailey got drunk, said something stupid, went viral overnight.

And likewise, I wasn't suggesting southern white trash can never become A-list whatsoever. Mentioning the A-list was only relevant in that her mainstream appeal is limited and she won't be booking famous actors or actresses to appear on her podcast because she's a literally who next to other A-list interviewers like Lipton and Sawyer.

If Hailey was seeking to break into Hollywood as a serious actress (which she isn't, according to her management as little as two months ago), she's 23 and has probably missed her chance. She's already known for the meme and therefore, rebranding or distancing herself from the meme is impossible since the Internet never forgets, no matter how much time she might go dark only to resurface later. Not Julliard nor the Stella Adler Studio of Acting will take her in by this point (and they probably don't want that publicity anyway).

Now, that's not to say that there aren't late bloomers in Hollywood - take a look at Harrison Ford or Jennifer Hudson. The former was a bit part actor and sometimes crew member/roadie who nearly abandoned Hollywood for carpentry until he was selected for Star Wars - and we know the rest of the story on that. The latter was an American Idol castoff who showed Simon Cowell how wrong he was by taking home an Oscar for Dreamgirls a few years later. So, comeback stories happen, but they're still exceedingly rare. Second winds for people who have exhausted their 15 minutes via a meme don't really happen - they usually end up fading into obscurity given how fickle and fleeting our attention spans are.

To me, Sabrina gives innocent but freaky side that plays at night vibes

Did you see her & Jenna Ortega kiss in Taste music video?
Sabrina gives "trying too hard to seem freaky but is definitely as innocent as she looks" vibes.

I saw like half a dozen movie references. The Ginger Snaps one was cool. Never see anyone referencing that gem.

I dont think her podcast will ever be as big as she thought it would. That being said as i was typing this her view count on the new episode updated and went from 87k to 98k. Just from the comments though its clear the joke will probably keep it from ever being a top podcast. Also on the podcast instagram they posted this picture of her and her friends sitting around a table just the four of them eating pizza. It was kind of odd to realize that in possibly a year or two they will be sitting around that table saying "remember when?"

Sorry for the long ass post i got cheated on recently so my brain is over analyzing and over thinking everything lmao

This is like a knock off "Call Your Daddy" podcast.

Here's the CamSoda parody they did of her video if anyone wants to imagine it's her.

Even for a porno that intro was painfully cringe
