The reason was to use the hype to get another week of subs. Everything else is bullshit. It was fully within his control to not make his announcement so close to this, or to simply do the reveal as he promised to his paying subscribers anyway, and he chose not to. 100% scam.

You don't delay something you've been building towards since pretty much starting your OF, unless something unexpected happened. That's why I resubbed in the middle of February. A combination of Finn's history of getting cold feet/delaying and Ashley putting out a screenshot which showed that the big house move was going to be on Feb 29. Thought it would get pushed back from the move but then someone asked Ashley about a week ago if she was excited for the move and she said she had no idea when they were moving in despite the screenshot of the message.
That made more sense since they talked in January that the house didn't having flooring and the 2nd floor wasn't even complete for a house that was getting worked on for a year and a half (not counting when Finn stopped paying the construction crew from September-December following his depression break).
This is roughly the 1 year anniversary so I bet there's a disproportionate amount of subs that are going to expire within the week.
