Due to lack of a better place to put these, here are a list of extensions I use to make my SimpCity life easier!
Downloaders and Tampermonkey scripts are found elsewhere above or in other areas of the forum; these are 'others'.
Good for a personal computer, where you don't always share it, but you want to have stuff hidden in the event someone needs to use it or is looking over your shoulder as you start to type in "por..." or "sim..."
(Mods, please feel free to edit the original post or incorporate my list as needed)
All are Chrome, however I know some have Firefox versions (If someone has link for Firefox version of the same, not similar, extension, let me know and I'm happy to edit post to cover both)
"Quickly enable/disable Google Chrome extensions"
Useful to pin to your browser and then quickly enable or disable extensions with a single click
"Organize your downloads automatically! Set custom download locations based on filetype, filename, or source domain."
A good application to route downloads automatically rather than selecting each time or accidentally leaving something you shouldn't in your downloads folder.
It's not a perfect solution, requires use of Symlinks and to date I haven't worked out a way to incorporate it properly with the
Tampermonkey script short of just using it to point all .zip folders to a specific location and then turning the extension on or off with Extensity as needed.
"Pause your history recording in one click
The fastest and smartest way to stop and activate your browser's history"
Name kinda says it all. Combined with some regular cookie maintenance, it's the best way I've found to browse the forum and links without worrying about private mode and logins all the time. (Remember it doesn't hide everything, just SOME of the evidence you were here)
"Re-enable the possibility to use the context menu on sites that overrides it."
One of many on the market, this is just my preference/one I use
"Adds a password-protected bookmarks list to Google Chrome."
A simple extension with limited but enough functionality to save links to your favorite sites you might not want showing in your main bookmarks bar.
I played around with another extension, and didn't find it as easy to use as this one. Like all programs along this line, make sure you backup regularly as updates from Chrome or the Extension are always a risk.
"An easy to use extractor or grabber for hyperlinks on an HTML page"
Scans a page and lists all hyperlinks (and links to media such as images and videos). Similar to a downloading extension such as DownThemAll or VideoDownloadHelper just without the download. Useful if you only want the links and/or need to input into another program (eg yt-dlp).
And my personal favorite time saver...
"Copy tabs URL to clipboard (formats : text, HTML, JSON or custom). Paste to open multiple URL at one go."
Simple and easy way to copy all URLs from open tabs in the window or from all windows.
Best use of this for me is when you open a 50gb bunkr album, and don't want them all, you can go through, CTRL+Click on the vids you like and open a heap of tabs, then copy and paste them into your URLs.txt file for
Cyberdrop-DL and run the download.
