In my opinion: Just compress it.
Do you really need the 4K 5GB source file? Or would you be OK with a Full HD file which only has 1.5GB instead? And if you mainly watch on a tablet/phone: Would HD resolution be ok aswell?
For me I realized: HD with H265 and constant-rate-factor of 25 is more than enough. This compressed 1TB of videos to ~400GB, because some 20minute 4K videos were 5GB
. I don't need to see every single pubic hair on an actress.
Also, H265 is your own opinion aswell. Do you want to watch your videos in a browser?
Most people will download the video anyways, because we are all paranoid hoarders.
I personally use h265 because video players support it since ages and I don't use a browser to manage/view my content.
