Refusal to give trans people the bare minimum respect of using their preferred pronouns is transphobic. You can define the term exclusivity as those showing outward disgust/hatred but that ignores subtle forms of bigotry.
For example, asking someone of Hispanic descent in the US if they're a legal resident is subtly racist, because it reinforces stereotypes that those who DO actively display disgust/hatred toward them use against them.
While there are bigots currently accusing all trans women of being "men in disguise" and accusing them of being a danger to children (something all statistics on the subject refute) calling a trans creator like Icky a "man" is reinforcing those stereotypes.
They may not "mean it" that way, but it's hard to see it as anything else when they sit there and refuse to acknowledge someone's gender identity. And even if they are completely devoid of any negative feelings toward trans people, they are actively disrespecting a person who has undoubtedly had to deal with the same statements used out of hate.
I mean, maybe he's some pissy boomer who can't accept that the way they grew up isn't the way the world remains forever and that they have to stop treating people they find "strange" like dirt. Unlikely as he says he's bi, so it seems more a case of someone in a marginalized group seeing another group that is commonly associated with them draw public & political ire and feels it's best to put distance between them.
Though that never works, the same group of people that are trying to keep trans people out of bathrooms and keep trans kids killing themselves instead of getting simple and reversible care is also making it illegal to acknowledge that you have a same-sex partner as a teacher and have threatened to remove legal protections for same-sex marriage.
Trans people are an easy target right now, and people piling on just helps keep them there, but as is always the case, taking rights away from one group is never where the stripping of rights ends.
