It's more that streamers are not blameless in encouraging parasocial behaviour, in the same way they are not blameless if they have cultivated a toxic follower base. Streamers seem to reward their most obsessive fans by making them mods to do work for them for free. If someone is genuinely mentally ill, it's not really their fault that the man in the tv talks back to them and we do not usually make fun of the mentally ill. Streaming just blurs that line even more.
