They are considered "center, center-right" policies throughout the rest of the world, which really puts into perspective how far gone our "right" wing party has devolved.

Performers can believe what they want to believe, I dont judge them per se... but i just find it strikingly odd the mental gymnastics folks have to tell themselves, thinking their party supports them, and their choices. It the original context something like ensuring the people are well armed would be a leftist position, it's siding with the people and providing them the ability to protect themselves from the abuses of the state and those in positions of power generally.
