Not going to say I'm some sort of expert either but I think it started with legitimate problems with executives and producers like Harvey Weinstein and others with lots of money and power. Becoming a Hollywood actress is whole different beast than the porn world there's waaaayyy more money and reputation on the line. So there's more incentive to keep your mouth shut if a director or producer gets too handsy for example.

The problem with the 'metoo' thing imo is that while there were a lot of scumbags in Hollywood getting called out for shitty behavior, people who just had a bad experience were being called out too. I'm thinking like Aziz Ansari in this case, who went on a bad date, there was miscommunication and he got "metoo'ed" when he probably didn't deserve it.

The issue of ''nothing gets done about it'' I think is kinda right - almost. The mainstream world of Hollywood is a world in that, if there's evidence and you're bad enough *something* gets done about it. Harvey Weinstein is a convicted sex offender, so is Bill Cosby. So something "got done" deservedly so. But i'm also sure there's lots that happens that continues to get swept under the rug with hush money or promises of fame.

Porn world is different. It's hard to get on board with sex crimes in porn world because sex is literally part of the job. A lot of people simply don't give a shit about pornstars and sex workers because of the way society sees these women. But women are a dime a dozen in porn, men aren't. Reliable men especially aren't. Despite what a lot of people think, it's not necessarily easy being a male pornstar, that's why we all sorta know the popular ones and why we see the same ones popup a lot. It's because they're reliable to show up, perform, stay hard, have stamina, can pop on command.

So male pornstars will probably get a pass for shit behavior and not get called out on it because:

1. they're reliable performers and that's hard to come by, so their shit behavior gets ignored and

2. because the wider population doesn't care about sex workers like they do mainstream Hollywood celebs. When a pornstar dies, it doesn't make the mainstream news.

Funny how only the older, basically retirement age guys got actual trials and jail time. But not any of the younger, active accused.
