Support Now that Pixeldrain is an unreliable host, what should I use for files over 2GB?

Looking over the recommended file hosts page, Saint, Bunkr, and Cyberdrop have file size limits, and Mega, Dropbox, and Yandex Disk have storage limits unless you buy a subscription. That leaves 1fichier, which works, but unfortunately doesn't have video previews like Pixeldrain does. I've also tried to use Cyberfile, but none of my files ever make it past 5% uploaded before there's an error.

for files over 2gb you can still you use bunkr and cyberdrop. Either A. archive and split into parts then upload B. Split the file into parts then upload so it's still playable

mentioned in support thread

What's up with Pixeldrain? I haven't uploaded anything to them in a while. I remember a forum message about it was being moved from the recommended hosts.

Before the data loss if u didnt know, pixeldrain is now focused for registration for uploading files/vids and thats no-no. Someone did abuse too much the site to upload nsfw and then pixeldrain decided to do erase everything related to nsfw. Thats the reason the recommended hosts changed.

I've never had any luck with cyberfile unregistered for big files, so i didnt even bother registering.

Gofile seems to work fine for 2-3gb files, but past that size, Ive never managed to upload (it slows down and eventually fails)

bunkr requires registration I believe, but is not working lately and seems to have had several large data loss issues in the past, may register if they solve it

I currently have a couple hot huge files that I found laying around and wanna share but no luck trying to upload them :hahaa:

Yep, been looking for the same thing. I found this one recently, haven't tried it yet. You can upload without an account.

Maximum upload file size is 5GB and I suppose same apply for free downloads.

What data loss?

Has been working fine, yes, there's a few slowdowns during peak hours even with SSD/NVME servers. But overall has been ok.

People tend to forget how expensive storage is, they just keep DM'ing me to increase Bunkr upload size to 5Gb+, but they don't realize top specs SSD/NVME servers are more than $2000/month/each for us at least.

We already have more than a handful of those servers. We can't just keep ordering and ordering, we don't shit money to keep buying these.

Managing such large data takes weeks, plural.

925 TB of "active" data. I'm sure there's a few fucks that have some sort of script that keeps their files active, we're working on detecting these, as the cache was only about ~100TB of most viewed shit.

Plus chime in all the abuse, specially the UA/CP uploads people love to upload... it gets very tiresome.

at some point there was a bunch of galleries that got partially or totally emptied out , sometime around 2023, dude I'm not complaining, I know this stuff happens

Well it wasn't a data loss due to database crash (like the forum) or server crash.

It was a mistake on our end, we forgot to exclude images on the daily cleanup of inactive files. (and it was only a few GB, not "large" and definitely the only time)

In short, Pixeldrain doesn't want to be a pirate porn host.

There's a few reasons the owner has mentioned in various places such as countries blocking pixeldrain including Italy, their host not liking the content and him getting fed up with all the DMCA / Abuse claims he has to deal with daily.

The actions the owner has taken include:
  • Adding a porn report option which automatically takes down files reported for porn with over 1000 views , this includes the total count for an 'album' being over 1000 even if the individual files within are less.
  • Implemented the need to sign up for an account to upload so that he can then ban the account from uploading.
  • IPs are now banned on first offense.
  • Extended the length of IP bans.
This resulted in a sudden huge spike in dead pixeldrain links, so we had to take action by adding it to the mirroring policy.

Pixeldrain was great because it had no ads, streamed online, downloaded quickly etc. He is able to have no ads by using Patreon subscription money to fund Pixeldrain but those subscribers are not using this site, at least not many of them, so why should he cater for us when we are not providing him any income and only trouble. If his site had ads, this would be a different story with its own issues, mainly that most ad suppliers wouldn't be happy with the content.

Gofile is also an unreliable host, so yeah I wouldn't go with that one

I know it is not reliable, but its the only one i managed to download a big file into, eventually it will get removed but with hundreds or thousands of downloads, someone will have it and rehost it somewhere else to keep the chain going.

I mean there's nothing fully reliable, the closest in my opinion is jpgsu for pics, at least when it went down for a few days i did not suffer any data loss

ALso, Pixeldrain is becoming even more...hostile, sometimes it would only allow 2 concurrent downloads, sometimes it say I can't download because of concurrent downloads even if I'm not downloading anything :Modge:

Now days most really good file host only last like 18 months the spamming trolls who upload 3TB to 30tb of garbage 400p to 480p 1000 bitrate JAV and Hentai and they never get 2500 total download for all of their files are the ones killing these good file host.

I know few decent file host I have listed them on this forum before they were all rejected and I do not want them turned into like Pixeldrain.

a doubt that is eating at me is, if i upload a zip file to share in gofile, once its there, it is possible for someone to tamper with it putting some malicious thing inside it and I would end up being framed as the culprit? :PeepoBlanket:

Only the admin of a host can do that, but i highly doubt they will do that given the sheer amount of files, traffic they have. Also, the odds of them picking that specific .zip, download it, put shit inside, re-upload, etc.

Nah...
