I don't believe these are mutually exclusive things. Not only can she do both (make a ton of Money of her own for very little work AND be a trophy wife) but since many "trophy wife" situations end poorly it would actually be smart of her to have her own business and make her own money.
If the marriage/arrangement didn't work and she had nothing of her own saved up, and then she's years older and has had kids... her potential earnings going back to modeling diminishes a lot
