How do you guys download sub-only Twitch VODS in source quality? For the past year i have been using

An easy way to do it is similar to how to get free onlyfans trials. You sign up for an Amazon Prime trial, link Twitch account, and you have 1 free sub you can use on that account. Then you use twitch leecher to download.

TwitchRecover definitely works but the codec it uses is not great (TS-MPEG) regardless which container you choose. If I do use it like how I did when I downloaded and shared the Berry0314 prestream, I actually reencoded it to H.264 before I uploaded it.

Why not just use youtube-dl/yt-dlp like a normal person? You provide the session cookies or login details and it will download everything in any quality.

yt-dlp has worked like a charm for me for quite some time. It's so good that I could also use it to scrape TikTok profiles!

bump with a question, has twitch made changes when VODs disappear, seems like 14days is now max amount you can view the m3u8 files?

How I use (its personnaly how I use to download SOURCE vod replay including sub-only :
─ Once you installedTwitchRecover.exe, lunch
─ You have multiple choice (17 in total, but some feature dosen't work)
─ I choice the 3 (Get the link to a VOD (including sub-only).)
─ Enter the URL of the video you want, and choose the quality you want (source, 720p, ...)
─ You will get a .m3u8 link, you cant past on JDowloader for download the video
PS : you can also stream video with the M3U8 link with VLC for exemple

into twitchrecover 1.2 it says no vod found. when i put it into twitch alpha 2.0 twitchrecover just crashes.

i get 403 forbidden errors for the unmuted segments so those don't get downloaded but the other segments do. it doesn't give the muted/unmuted option.

someone posts that twitch recover doesn't find the m3u8 url but someone else finds the url and posts it. but doesn't explain how they found it. so there's other tools out there.

you don't have to re-encode. twitch streams are mp4s inside a ts container. it's not really an "mpeg-ts" container. that's just a name. ts containers can hold almost any kind of video. so all you have to do is use ffmpeg to copy the stream into an mp4 container. should take only a few seconds.

ffmpeg -i input.ts -c copy output.mp4

that's it. ffmpeg should be pretty easy to install and use.

Some deleted VODs can not be found, but some can.

Also i managed to get a m3u8 link from a VOD which can't be found via TwitchRecovery but i can't download it, because i get an "403 Frobidden" error.

I used another tool called "getdeletedtwitchvods" I stumbled across on github. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued and the developer is aware that it will not work anymore.
