What you're talking is very era focused, for example catamites, homosexuality, and orgies of which I'm assuming you're equating with "the lifestyle" was practiced primarily by the upper class and only during the civilizations decay into decadence. You find a lot of decadence today and most of the people making claims such as yourself are deliberately cherry picking and misinterpreting things from history such as the claim that Achilles and Patroclus were in a homosexual relationship because they must make everything sexual and decadent like themselves, these same people sharing their "historical analysis" act as thought it is fact and yet think philadelphia is simply the name of a city in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia was an important concept in other times and sexualizing it was seen as vile and cheapening it, just look at Aristotle's thoughts on that subject. The common people grew sick of the decadence of politicians etc. in Rome and Greece who were corrupting their society and that's why many of them were assassinated lmao, it was neither common nor accepted to behave that way by the vast majority of people, and having stronger convictions in those times as shown by their actions, they actually said what they meant and meant what they said and did not take hypocrisy lightly. Nero and Caligula were among the most decadent Emperors, and among the most hated and reviled by the people and in history. Marcus Aurelius and Aurelian were loved and exist in stark contrast, instead of letting their hedonism and decadence run wild as they destroy society, they saved it from the brink of collapse.
As for the Vikings.... and can't believe you're actually claiming that, I wonder if you've ever even read the Eddas, Havamal, or Saga of the Volsungs or even know what those things are. Even the people of Ancient India, of whom are associated generally with things like the Kama Sutra today regarding sexuality, had some serious spiritual beliefs that people did not violate lest one face exile or death such as caste systems and Dharma. Becoming casteless was the worst possible thing for them, and that's the fate of those who even touch others from lower castes so you can see how the whole "lifestyle" you refer to would be risking one's life and soul/reincarnation. Stepping out from your place in the way/nature/proper order of things (Dharma) was not consider an option or something worth risking, people actually took their beliefs seriously in those times as I mentioned before not like most today, like the Evangelical Christian mega-church preachers (Ted Haggard etc.) who get caught banging male prostitutes while high on meth and blame the Devil lmao. Consider that Indra was the most important deity of that time and if you don't know who Indra was or what invoked their Divine wrath look it up. I don't think I need to mention Prince Siddharta's (Buddha's) teachings regarding decadence or hedonism. I tried to cover as much of the globe as possible regarding the religions, histories, and cultures I've studied. Society has become very effeminate, it has a very strong feminine influence in many things. Ancient societies were the opposite, and perhaps that is the reason for so many people's inability to understand history without warping it by analyzing it through a modern lens, they simply lack the correct frame of reference or the faculties to overcome that limitation.
You can disagree with any of the above practices, but don't revise history to fit your current beliefs with Freud-esque psychoanalyses. Crack an actual book by Tacitus or Diodorus Siculus, don't simply read some opinion article or reddit post about someone else's interpretation. I am not trying to be rude or anything either, so don't take it that way; text just sucks at conveying tone.
