Anybody knows a way to download full quality videos, not compressed, on manyvids when the only option is to stream?
You can change the quality on the video from compressed to original in the video play settings itself and then just download it using add-ons like video downloadhelper or IDM or something else. When you change the quality you should see the larger version available to be chosen. Of course you have to have access to the video (free or purchased) to be able to grab it.
That's exactly my problem. I can't change the quality since there's no video play setting anymore. So when i try to dowload using a google extension, that used to work before, by default it downloads the compressed file. I can't chose between the two versions. Here's an example.
The usual add-ons don't work because you can't select specific quality settings. I tried several options and the only thing that worked was jdownloader2. I pasted the video url and it grabbed all options, including FHD.

Ok, does that video have other options? I ask because for me, when a video has a original and compressed version there is a Quality option down in the lower right between the sound and screen enlarge that allows you to pick which to play. I see the same on Chrome, Firefox, and Brave.
No, it doesn't have any other options. In the lower right there's just the sound setting and screen enlarge. I'm using Chrome by the way.
Then I am at a loss. I just went out there in Chrome and selected free and the first video that was in the list had no Quality option to change but the second one did. So I have no idea why you wouldn't have that wheel like button show up to change the quality on videos that have both a original and compressed version available to play. I am really not sure what could be stopping it from displaying on the player.
Yep, i don't have that button on any of the *stream only* videos that i've purchased. In videos where the download option is available, i do have the button.
So if there is anyone who knows how to change the video quality or download the FHD version despite this, it would be welcome.
You know what, I did some more checking and I am noticing the same thing. This is new. I even checked one that I "made a local back of" a few weeks ago. It is the correct size that the video states it should be at 645MB but is not the size that IDM shows available to grab 396MB, which would be the compressed version. Interesting, I wonder if they decided to only offer compressed for streaming only now.
Atrocious decision if you ask me because people pay for a FHD video and they are not providing that, without any reason apparently.
yt-dlp has been able to get the videos for about a year or so. manyvids recently patched it but someone just found a fix. after you install yt-dlp update your manyvids.py with the patched one and you can download stream only vidoes in source quality.
I just downloaded the patched version from , and it still says no video formats found, am I missing something?
try uninstalling and reinstall yt-dlp so you have a clean repo that's up to date. delete the manyvids.py that comes with it and put the patched one in its place. test any regular manyvids video and you should be able to download it. if you're using a vpn that might be an issue. restarting your computer doesn't hurt either.
Ah ok now it works, must of been out of date or something lol, it's been a while since I've messed with it.

i haven't used any but there are some guis available for yt-dlp. after you install one there should be a file somewhere on your system called
manyvids.py delete that file and replace it with
. some videos will require cookies. how to use cookies will depend on which gui you choose.
