But the difference is that for tv-series the producers communicate their plan beforehand and during production.
Not just drop everything, and then show up a few months / years later and pretend nothing happened.

The male equivalent to a stretched vagina would probably be the foreskin which can expand a lot through stretching (praised be all Doctors that recommend doing this instead of getting it amputated due to „phimosis“).
