Question Tik.fail dying?

Hey,

I've been an avid user of tik.fail for a long time now. About a week ago, the site started running into issues. Initially it wouldn't load at all, then it would load very slowly (but display differently than usual). Now it's loading a bit better, but none of the functionality works (522 error when you try to search for an account).

Anyone know what's going on? Would be a shame if the site dies out, it's much better than savetiknowm.

TikFail works for me, but with some bugs and errors. You can use alternative "tiktokder", i think they use same db

Still not working for me, or others on their Discord.
I'd be surprised if they used the same database. At least from my experience, there were usually discrepancies between Tik.fail and tiktokder for the same accounts. But I'm not technically informed.

Anyway, apparently the owner/lead dev has been AWOL for over a month. Their last announcement (4/Nov/23) was asking for emergency funds for server hosting. So, I guess that should give a pretty clear indication of what the issue is atm.
There are 2 other guys on the Discord with the same role as the owner (it's called "cat" so idk what it means), neither of them know (or will say) what is going on.

Before writing the last answer, I checked tik.fail and I was able to save one video, the other did not open at all. Now I checked again and even the search does not work. I checked everything with this account "hannahkae27".
As for tiktokder, I checked many accounts (at least 100), the videos were identical, so I assumed that the database was the same, but I might be wrong

From my experience, the database is definitely not the same. tik.fail has had way more deleted videos than any of the other tiktok archiving sites that I've checked.

It is working again, for now.
Not sure if any saved vids were lost.
