Just from looking at their account I believe they are using she/they pronouns now and have been getting some surgery lately. I guess they're just feeling more comfortable now and wanted to make a clean break from the old stuff and everything attached to that. Which is great since, like you said, they weren't in a good mental space when they stopped last year.
