To state the obvious, this is most likely not a good development. According to the post on r*ddit, she gave birth three months ago, which would have had her pregnant when she was filming her upcoming project "Fortune de France", so my hopes for it are a bit deflated now. Probably also means that season 2 of BRI will be later than initially expected and perhaps even tamer than the first. Sure, it's not a definite "she'll never get naked again" (Léa Seydoux still gets naked regularly after giving birth), but it's one of the biggest blows to my hopes in a long, long time and I wouldn't blame you for giving a minute's silence with me.

I don't care a whit about her personal life, and, consequently, the bulk of my comment is about the ramifications of this aspect of it for her future career from the perspective of a coomer which I have such interest in precisely because of the uncertainty around ever seeing more of Mektoub.

I actually have a question for Cockflesh Golem: do you know Bau's ethnicity? I get that she's a French citizen, but do you know her to be of Arab extraction? It's striking to me that virtually everyone in her friend group (including now her child's father) are obviously Arab; I assumed she was cast as White meat for Arab men in the Mektoub films, to be honest. I get that 'the Great Replacement' is particularly well underway in France, but it really blows my mind how non-White France already is.

The guy who broke this latest news on r*ddit who claims that he knows her personally said that she likes Arabs and that all of her BFs apart from the guy from Mektoub have been Arab. He seems a bit shifty to me, but he was right about this latest news, and I've seen other people spout similar rumours with pictures that makes me find it plausible. He also says that if you go through what she follows and likes on IG it becomes obvious too, but I haven't tried that.

The infamous Samya De Lavor from Neon Bull 2015 if you remember. We can't conclude yet that Ophelie Bau won't go the same route.

It's not just the kid thing, it's a combination of several things (most of which are mentioned in my extended spergouts ITT). I'd basically turned pessimist about her late last year, and this development only reinforced that. In brief:

1. She is clearly a fairly low-key person, and is happy to forgo stardom and just act in whatever tickles her fancy. She's also seemingly content to do this at a snail's pace and/or just gets no work. If she has kid now, that likely just slows everything down even more (in addition to the possibility of her body taking a serious hit in the event that she gets naked again anyway).

2. Everything that she's said about sex scenes and nudity in the aftermath of Intermezzo suggests that it has influenced her career choices significantly in a (from our POV) negative way. She almost certainly looks skeptically at any requests for nudity in general now, and she certainly doesn't want to be typecast as "the sexy girl with the big butt who gets naked and has sex", with her seemingly only going for roles miles away from her Mektoub role now (tho it's hard to really generalize when she works so little). Going into TV also seems to be a bad sign, as it seems to be far less lewd than cinema.

3. Our greatest hope (Intermezzo) is still, after almost five years, ultimately a big question mark where we can't even say for sure that if we get something, it'll be good or even that she'll be in it at all. We're apparently never getting the Cannes cut while Kechiche is alive, and with each passing day it looks less likely that we'll get anything at all despite what Kechiche says.

TLDR, I'd say that there's no use following her with any kind of hope unless you want the occasional simp crumb like we got from BRI. Things can indeed change suddenly (look at Intermezzo), but more often, they simply don't.
