What happened to him? Is he in jail? I don't think he took any nudes of them. If he did, her certainly didn't post them.

I was a Berkeley, CA based photographer from the end of 1996 - mid 2016. I did a lot of the old Playboy style stuff. Some spread shots, but mostly stuff that people might label erotic, not porn. I worked with a bunch of the models that had worked with him, that had known models that worked with him, or talked with him about work. I remember a couple that mentioned he wanted them to refer their younger sisters to him even after he knew they were underage (the underage model claims don't surprise me at all - one model admitted she was underage and he knew it, telling her to just not put the date on the release). There were a couple that bolted when, unannounced, he took his clothes off during a shoot. IIRC, one said his excuse was that, since she was naked, he wanted her to feel comfortable with him nude as well. Pretty much every model that I met/worked with that had met/worked with him said he tried to put his hands on them even at initial meetings. I think some of them could have done some really good glamour/nude stuff, maybe even gotten into mainstream porn, but after dealing with him, few wanted to do anything beyond simple nudes.

We've mentioned other sites and threads. I'd love to know if anyone remembers and or has anything from AsianDivaGirls.com . There were a few models there that I had worked with and similarly, once they worked there they didn't want to be in front of the camera any more. One model known as Krishelle Brown was told non-nude stuff - lots of skin but nothing exposed - and it seems they recorded her with a few hidden video cameras during photo shoots. When she complained, they basically told her tough shit, she signed a release. There were others that I'd love to see what they made over there. One started with the name Porcelain but changed it to one of the Moon names (Sailor Moon maybe ?).

I do see Krishelle there, but I don't see Moon/Porcelain. There's quite a few pornstars in that list, I don't see any sfbay girls but I do recognize some models who shot for asiansexclub on there. Hopefully someone out there did a siterip before they closed that site. I'd love to see their stuff.
Found her - it's Blossom Moon. We shot a 3 on 1 with her. A few BTS shots from that scene.
A few more from BTS. Sorry about quality - these were shot on film, printed, then scanned. Since these didn't make it as final products they were never scanned from the transparency (much cleaner, no dust, etc).
I know a little about archive / the Wayback machine but no idea if it would have access to member areas to backup. Any suggestions appreciated of how to check or where else to look for their content.

NNB Vidco. We sold almost exclusively as content creators to distributors and sites.
I've had a little bit from that site saved, but no shocking wins or anything. Was mostly looking for import models at the time. I've been trying to find their Jenni Lush sets ever since. Were there any specific models I'm looking for? I can check and see what I have.

We worked with Luanna aka Lori Navarra. IIRC, they shot some basic stuff with her, we did the same, she shot toys with them, then toys, b/g, and b/g/b with us, then a bunch of stuff with them. We worked with Mercy and had a 2nd shoot set up - b/g for the 2nd one - which she cancelled. Like so many of these young women, she wanted to make sure we were never going to partner her with the camera people when we convinced her to shoot again (we never did that kind of work, though we might hand a performer a camera from time to time) but decided again to cancel. If you've seen the 2nd video from ASC, you see she did not want to shoot it and I'm certain she felt coerced.
There were a few others I remember and I think we worked with, but it may have just been initial interviews.
If anyone has any more of Arielle Lee, Luanna aka Lori N, or Mercy I'd love to see it.

Bentbox is a good site to search for models from awhile back as photographers sell their old stuff there. If the model uses different names they are hard to find but Arielle did turn up these results:

If the bentbox seller shot a model you know, look through their other stuff as they likely have other models you may have shot too. BTW how did you and other photographers find models like Arielle and Mercy back then? Was modelmayhem up and running at that time?
I've considered selling on Bentbox but I haven't heard enough content creators saying it was worth the effort.
Wow, I looked at Arielle Lee on those previews and those are certainly not her best. I remember speaking with her in person and when we we worked with her; she was really beautiful. Those pics are terribly lit and she looks tired.
Modelmayhem came around in 2004 or '05. OneModelPlace (OMP) and a few others started about 10 years before that. OMP lost a lot of credibility when they let known scammers go without issue. While we and a bunch of others were upfront about what we were shooting, you had people like Andrew Slater, ADG, ASC, Israel (can't remember last name - scammer out of NYC), and a bunch of others who, as someone above noted, would be gone now with the #MeToo movement. OMP did no moderating when people (especially models) complained. When OMP started losing ground when MM arrived, instead of fixing their issues they changed to a paid only platform. Others fell to the wayside likely because MM had a clean look, good moderation, quick response to reported issues, and more. MM, however, has a strict no adult (re: X) work solicitation rule, and that has kept a lot of people and keeps advertisers happy.
Thanks for the history lesson. I've just been a consumer of this material so it's cool hearing the behind the scenes story with how everything worked back then. I thought you guys might have been using back of newspaper classified ads back then to find models. I can't imagine what finding models was like pre-internet, must have been such a crap shoot with who showed up. For just a nude photoshoot, what was the going rate back then? How many hours would it usually last? How much would that price go up for b/g?
I know of all the people/sites you mentioned except for Israel, what was his website as perhaps I know him from that.
We'd post some classifieds but usually in papers that were around the colleges. Not a lot, as once money was paid to a few women it was often word of mouth referrals with bonus money for making successful referrals. Best times were where you'd think they'd be: just after start of school, just before and after Spring break, and just before finals. A lot of times we could find dancers (especially in larger college towns) and they showed up because of pay an we'd know their address and arrange a ride. Shoots would go anywhere from trade (simple nudes, artsy kind of stuff) to $50/hour and up for explicit. Actual penetration scenes started around $600 for bj or g/g, more for intercourse or anal, and more for multi partner. If the woman was really hot and she knew it, they could command more. Once a lot of internet companies came along, and actual licensed agents (beyond Jim South Modeling) started working on-line, b/g scenes went way up. For women who were ok with less money in exchange for less fame, there were a lot of smaller producers like us.
I'd have loved to banged some of these women (I did accept a few offers from a handful) but some of them were just wanting quick money and they were up to doing anything for it.
I don't remember the website or his last name. He was often referred to by Izzy. He was out of NYC, and used to talk about his "modeling shoot" trips to Iceland. From what I remember seeing later, it was his parents' yearly family trips and they took him as well. He wasn't just coercive; 2 models filed police reports against him for blocking their way out of the (hotel?) room until they shot what he wanted. I know soon after he was using a different name. The other guy, in San Fran, was Calvin Merritt. He used a bunch of variations of that name, and he was sued and lost to Playboy Magazine (PEI) for his bs he called "Playet."
