Question Downloading VR Videos

Some tube sites like Spankbang and Pornhub have VR/360 videos which work as expected in the browser, but downloading them (via their website, using IDM, or Jdownloader2) leads to them looking like this, without any of the VR functionality:



This is played in VLC, which is supposed to be able to play these types of videos. Unless I'm missing something in the settings, I don't know how to download it in the proper format. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT: Clarification if others with the same question see this: when I said "work as expected" I meant that I could use the mouse to hold and drag the video to simulate moving my head with a VR headset, which I do not have.

SOLUTION: drinkerpenitent has pointed out that PotPlayer enables a 360 viewing mode

I don't know about VLC, I've always used PotPlayer for pretty much everything.

PotPlayer has a lot of different options for VR like videos.

Will consider this a solution since it took roughly two seconds to enable 360 viewing after installing. Never heard of this player before, too. Many thanks.

if you have oculus quest, just use virtual desktop...

After you download and install PotPlayer, open up a downloaded VR video and it would look like this:




The little arrow points to the 360 button, and when you click on it, you'll see this menu:





And then enabling will allow you to simulate VR movement, meaning you can drag the screen around like the tube sites allow you to:

I don't mean to ignore your advice, but I wasn't exactly clear in my post, sorry about that. I don't want/need a VR headset, but I do want to view them normally and not with a double fish-eye perspective.

3xplanet or pornav for jav stuff, but you gotta stay on top of that shit cus the free katfile and mexa links go down after a month or two
sometimes they'll also show up on sukebei nyaa
pornolab or forumophilia for western stuff
the comments in javlibrary has stuff if you have premium for k2share, filjoker, or rapigator among others

Just use SLR VR Application allows you to watch vr videos with no problem

Surprisingly, even the Windows Movies & TV app has a 360° mode that works really well with 180° side by side videos

Best quality is 8k videos. Ptorrents is good for torrenting videos.

Yup, wired connection has the best quality.
But if your Wi-Fi is good enough you won’t see a difference between wired and AirLink.

Best quality is 8k videos. Ptorrents is good for torrenting videos.

Pretty sure the best VR cameras actually only record at 5K and every video that claims to be more than that is upscaled, so you can save some space by just downloading the 5K versions.

any high rated quest 2 compatible usb-c cable should work. the official cable is a little pricey, but its for sure known to work.
