It's not a stupid rule, is a necessary one. The point of the rule is to stop minors from being posted, and the account of the person doesn't need to be active, they just need to be verified. It's probably annoying the first time since it takes time for OF to approve, but after that it makes no difference, the account can be completely anonymous to the rest of the public as well, so i rly don't see a problem.

Its unenforceable so its pretty useless. I follow one creator in particular who does collab content with her current boyfriend, but he's tagged as her boyfriend from over a year ago because the current one doesn't want to give his ID for verification. I understand wanting mitigate either underage people on the platform or stop revenge porn and stuff like that, but this is one of those "what level of privacy are we willing to give up to improve things" situations. If the privacy we sacrifice isn't 100% solving the problem we're trying to solve, I don't think its worth it. They only do verification ONCE. After that, you can just bring on whoever you want and say its someone else. Hell, have your first collab verify, and then every time after have a different collaborator just get tagged as the first one. I'm surprised people aren't loaning out their identity for people who don't want to verify

There will always be ways to cheat the system, that doesn't mean there should not be a system. They have a pretty agressive detection thing as well, to the point of one page that i follow having to contact support bc it was detecting a dildo as a real person.

People that are going to collab in porn usually do it multiple times, this idea that someone is just going to make one video ever is BS. If the person is done with the whole thing, they can just delete their account and that account can't be used as verification anymore, as far as i know.

Sacrifice your privacy is a strech, OF is not a social media, people do it to make money , they kind of have to know your ID to be able to pay you, like most jobs. The site is massive as well, have millions of users around the world, nobody is going to leak some random person ID in there, and even if there is a leak, there is so many people there that it would not matter, unless someone rly wanted to fuck with that person.
