I have dedicated a thread to talk about the upcoming Meta Quest 3.

Rumors:

Release date: October 2023
Price Point: $300-$500
Features pancake lenses which means half the thickness of the Meta Quest 2.
This version includes Mixed Reality
30% greater resolution
Better clarity in the center and around the edges
Refresh Rate of 120Hz
Reintroduces the fine tuning of the IPD
May feature 12 GB RAM and 512 GB hard drive space
 
The Meta Quest 3 is now available for preorder in the usual shopping sites!

The 128 GB version is $499.

The 512 GB version is $649.

The field of view (FOV) on Quest 3 is much bigger than on Quest 2. You can see more vertically and horizontally. It looks much more like real life.

Quest 3 can display things in 9k resolution. Quest 2 displayed things as high as 7k resolution.

I can tell the difference in the 7k and 8k videos. Try to get the RAW uncompressed files. You are looking at an average of 1 GB for every 2 minutes of video or more.

There are a few videos I saw that were so good at those resolutions that it looked exactly like real life.

You can stream the video url directly in the browser on the Quest 3.
You can download the vids directly onto your headset and then watch them.

The way I do it is I download the videos on my computer and then transfer them by the supplied cable to the Quest 3.

There is a TV app that is loaded on the Quest 3 where you can watch media.
I would recommend downloading the DEOVR player app on the Quest 3. It is free and you can make a lot of adjustments to the videos on there (height, roll, color, etc)

Download to your device or to a computer and then transfer the file over to your headset.
From there I recommend downloading the free and legal app of DEOVR.
Just open up the browser on your VR headset, type in DEOVR in a search engine and download it directly to our device.
You can adjust many different settings to pics and vids on that app such as the height, angle, color, roll, pitch, zoom, and much more.
