Question Help with QQ / Wechat / China

I wanted to buy some lewd chinese videos, but it seems I vastly underestimated how separated the chinese are from the rest of the world...

For QQ, nothing at all happens during registration, no sms code comes in, no error or anything shows. My phone does have international so I should be receiving some sort of fucking code, anything, but there's nothing at all. I tried an older version different from what's on the app store also.

For Wechat, it gives me a QR code and someone with a 6+ month old account needs to scan it. I don't know a single person in this world who uses this app to do this for me.

It seems all chinese thots use 1 of these 2 apps for payment, but neither are straightforward to create an account with as an American. Looking online, it seems you have to pay people to set up accounts for you?

I don't see any thread on this site for procuring chinese content, or help regarding signing up for and using these apps. Maybe someone else with experience can post some useful knowledge here and we can all learn from it.

QQ don't work because Americans and few other countries are blocked from using it. Wechat even if you can make an account wont work because wechat pay for foreigners won't allow you to add money. It just lets you pay at physical locations. Theirs a way around it but it's a pain in the ass.

For reference the way I get money into my wechat pay is I send money either through crypto or paypal (they cant sign up for paypal my friend just studied in the states and has it) to my friend they then put that in their bank and send me wechat pay

Yeah I'm trying to get some chinese girl to set up a bitcoin wallet and but google translate is not up to the task. I don't think they honestly care about getting e-money from bored white guys...

Pro tip I use chat gpt and use the prompt “translate to casual Chinese and make it sound like a native speaker from Taiwan “ I use Taiwan and not like Shanghai or something cause it then uses a weird mix of Cantonese and random Chinese dialects. It also works in reverse “translate to closest meaning one English “ .

Because I asked how I send them money and they said Wechat or QQ... Why bring up Alipay? Is it capable of sending money to wechat/qq or something? If you have experience with this please post about it, I've never even heard of Alipay before.

You not speaking english is no problem, we all use translation apps anyway, but this is an english site and there is a rule for content being in english. I think it's fine what you posted so far because I put the translation of it in my reply. But try to copy paste the english translation and post that so you don't get in trouble.

Thanks for the tip about Alipay being able to send money to Wechat/QQ... none of these apps are well known to westerners and information on them is kind of confusing since there seems to be different functionality depending on if you're chinese or not. I'm going to look into Alipay, but I read that Alipay is not intended to be used by foreigners in their home country/outside of China.

Paypal has a spinoff called Xoom and it seems like you can send money to an Alipay account in china, though, which I never knew about and I will try this. Hopefully they have Alipay already.

I'm buying from a twitter ero cosplayer. I know there is a risk of getting scammed, but losing a few bucks trying to get an image set is no big deal. I want to try it out since we don't have much experience here.

The main problems I encountered so far were these:
1 - sending money to someone in china, without using any chinese apps or services
2 - file transfers (almost nothing we use to send files will work in china)

The good news is that the rest of the world can use paypal Xoom can send to alipay accounts in china, so first problem seems solved.

The second problem also turns out to be solved, because if you are contacting a chinese erocosplayer twitter user... they are already using a vpn, since Twitter is normally blocked for them. Since they are using a vpn they can use regular file-transfer websites. So they should be able to send you content.

Still need to confirm the payment method works, I'll post an update when I try it out.
